And we are so excited to be back with the next installment. [SPEAKER_02]: Which is such a different type of movie. [SPEAKER_03]: In every possible way, this is a different type of movie. [SPEAKER_02]: For example, my theater was full.

[SPEAKER_02]: For example, people saw this one. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that's important. [SPEAKER_03]: Um, yes. [SPEAKER_03]: So, devil wears Prouda too. [SPEAKER_03]: Before we get to the movie, I kind of want to know, what was your connection? [SPEAKER_03]: Like, did you have a connection to the original one? [SPEAKER_03]: Like, or any fun feeling? [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just in the sense. [SPEAKER_02]: I definitely found feelings. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, God, what did it? [SPEAKER_02]: When did it come out?

[SPEAKER_02]: 2005? [SPEAKER_03]: I believe 2006, but let me double check because I don't want to lie on our podcast. [SPEAKER_02]: It was one of those. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so I was like... [SPEAKER_02]: 10 or 11, which is like, of course, I loved it. [SPEAKER_02]: And then this is one of those movies that has always just been like 2006 confirmed by the way, you're right. [SPEAKER_02]: You're right. [SPEAKER_02]: You're right. [SPEAKER_02]: You're right. [SPEAKER_02]: You're right.

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I've always just taken this movie as like, [SPEAKER_02]: of a matter of course, like it's just always been there, yes, but not in like an old movie way. [SPEAKER_02]: Like in a, right around the age where I would have, you know, this would have been exciting to me. [SPEAKER_02]: It came out and then we just continued through life together. [SPEAKER_03]: So 2006 you were a child, [SPEAKER_03]: Like middle school is your younger. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm so bad at age year math. [SPEAKER_03]: It would have been fifth grade or sixth grade.

[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's a sense. [SPEAKER_02]: Probably. [SPEAKER_03]: Prime kid area. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And this seems really fun for a kid. [SPEAKER_03]: I was thinking, [SPEAKER_03]: I read the book in 2005 or something, before the movie came out, and I have to be honest, I know I've books behind me, I didn't always read books back in this era of my life. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm shocked that this is like one of the few I had read, um, [SPEAKER_03]: So I had read the book and I was excited about the movie and I liked the movie, I am sort of feeling a little like this movie is like really specifically important to people exactly my age or two years older or young, like people kind of like around this, I'm 41, right?

[SPEAKER_03]: because I was the same age as the character Andy roughly. [SPEAKER_03]: How old was she supposed to be in the first one? [SPEAKER_03]: It just had a college, right? [SPEAKER_03]: So like 22, 23, something like that. [SPEAKER_03]: Character of Andy was exactly my age. [SPEAKER_03]: It was like, you know, [SPEAKER_03]: It just was like the I didn't go to college so like my time of life was like similar, but different, you know, but I think the her experience of the job market, which pertains to the new one, [SPEAKER_00]: El Zermalaniol, I believe he is with some respect on the old Milaniol.

[SPEAKER_03]: On myself, but for the older movie, I actually think it came out at this point in time right before not all but most older millennial women. [SPEAKER_03]: In this time, we're just starting to pretend not to like girly things to a wider degree. [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I think 2006, like by 2008, we're like all the cool girl. [SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, by 2011, we're living the mile-end kicks, you know, in the history dream. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, so, like, this is like one of the last pieces of like girly rom-com culture that got in before we all shut it down for, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And even then, Andy as a character is like, this is fucking dumb, you know? [SPEAKER_03]: Totally. [SPEAKER_03]: She's in there. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the thing is that she's not cool. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's true. [SPEAKER_03]: She's an important distinction. [SPEAKER_02]: She's just a donard. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And they're cool. [SPEAKER_02]: Like Emily's cool. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: And I just think that's really interesting. [SPEAKER_03]: I just feel like I'm hearing a lot of like women [SPEAKER_03]: how much this movie means to them.

[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm like, why don't you try it? [SPEAKER_03]: I'm realizing that it like it just made its way in before we all started trying to be cool to our male peers. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I feel like it's a movie geared towards women that was [SPEAKER_02]: you know a huge movie and also like it's just so well written it's funny it's smart it's quite like it's a it's a it's a it's a classic it's just a really good movie and it's like totally there's there's a whole genre essentially that has been spawned from the devil wears prodo which is like underlying push together with the senior who they don't like at first [SPEAKER_02]: Like, that is a whole genre.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're so right. [SPEAKER_02]: And women and women. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, the fact that they can turn is another one I'm thinking of. [SPEAKER_02]: Whereas the reverse, which is also in half the way.

[SPEAKER_03]: so in half a way. [SPEAKER_02]: I used to do joke about the intern, but now it's too old to do the joke, but I had a joke about how she gets in a the back of a car, Robert De Niro, and then he's like, you have a needle in today, have you? [SPEAKER_02]: And then he hands her a bowl of soup, and then they're driving, they're driving through you. [SPEAKER_00]: She's eating soup and a moving car.

[SPEAKER_03]: And he just has soup and McClump. [SPEAKER_03]: He got it. [SPEAKER_03]: It's like I'm on a sandwich. [SPEAKER_03]: There's so many things you could have handed her. [SPEAKER_03]: Protein bars are really good for that type of situation. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a big open bowl of soup. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so, you know, I didn't, the original movie is not the one I thought about a ton in the years between earlier this year. [SPEAKER_03]: I showed the original one to my husband because, you know, he needed to see the foundational texts.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he had never seen it. [SPEAKER_03]: He had never seen it. [SPEAKER_03]: And you know, he liked it, but didn't have a strong opinion about it. [SPEAKER_03]: The pies really stands out. [SPEAKER_03]: It's like breakneck pace. [SPEAKER_03]: It's just like this happened on this happen. [SPEAKER_03]: And it's nice. [SPEAKER_03]: It's like kind of... You feel very like picked up and supported through the story. [SPEAKER_03]: which is different from Mother Mary, huh? [SPEAKER_03]: It's like, good to be more excited.

[SPEAKER_02]: Or they just, they just threw us in there. [SPEAKER_02]: They just, they just threw us on the floor with one rattled blanket said here. [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, so your theater was full. [SPEAKER_03]: Did you enjoy this movie? [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't enjoy it. [SPEAKER_02]: I thought, you know, real, real crowd pleaser. [SPEAKER_02]: People in my theater were loving it. [SPEAKER_02]: They were hood and they were hollerin. [SPEAKER_02]: People are having reactions all different sorts of things.

[SPEAKER_02]: The people next to me could not handle when they'd go, go, go, show it up. [SPEAKER_03]: They were so excited. [SPEAKER_03]: That's really funny. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Heterosexual couple.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's really funny. [SPEAKER_03]: The sometimes their monsters too, little monsters, what are her fans called? [SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah, I didn't, you know, surprise surprise, Northbrook Illinois didn't have a full theater, but it was Thursday night. [SPEAKER_03]: There were a decent amount of people. [SPEAKER_03]: There were definitely two absolute and no offense to these people, but absolute nurses sitting next to me. [SPEAKER_03]: And I say that because they had evidence that that's what they were.

[SPEAKER_03]: They said it. [SPEAKER_03]: They talked about it.

[SPEAKER_03]: I am grateful to the nurses who have helped me at the doctor, but I don't want to be sitting next to them in the movie! [SPEAKER_03]: They were absolute nurses and they were talking, I mean they were specifically talking about their favorite kind of like travel tumblr like Stanley Cup type thing to bring to the hospital. [SPEAKER_03]: Likely thing for nurses to be talking about? [SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, I know this because they didn't shut the fuck up for the whole movie, they talked to the whole movie and add full normal volume.

[SPEAKER_03]: outside of that experience and say outside of that experience which like yeah etiquette in places that are not coastal elite cities can sometimes be a little dead at the movies unless you're at an absolute cinephile location and I don't know do I surrender to that we'll talk about that later but um that was the big part of my the start of the movie [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean that's it's part of the experience because it's a big part of my head space But no hoot and hollerin a very polite little crowd, but um we me and Alex loved it We thought it was really fun.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no it was like so fun. [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like okay [SPEAKER_02]: As a standalone movie, it doesn't, like, like we're just talking like movies and like if a movie is is good sure it doesn't it's not even in the same realm as the first one right yeah you know, but in terms of being like just like a good movie [SPEAKER_02]: But like a legacy sequel of like a beloved like classic modern classic isn't there are certain ways it has to be yeah to be [SPEAKER_02]: what it's supposed to be and yeah it was very good in that sense.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was very satisfying which is like the main thing you want. [SPEAKER_02]: It didn't feel like it was like in a totally different universe.

[SPEAKER_02]: It felt like everyone was like happy to be there. [SPEAKER_03]: which is major and important I think in these also like this 20 years later legacy sequel of a of a hit movie almost impossible to nail like I have almost never seen this done correctly so the fact that it it was a pretty decent like crowd pleaser it was such a crowd pleaser [SPEAKER_03]: I also, so my biggest takeaway from like the story they told in this movie, which is essentially a, where the first one was a, you know, young girl takes on the big city and the big job and like pursues her dreams type of story, was a, hey, didn't, didn't Millennials get fucked.

[SPEAKER_03]: with like their careers and like she is a victim of media consolidation I just was like oh well I was really impressed that that's what the story was about and that it was essentially a like millennial media career [SPEAKER_03]: revenge fantasy story and that is really funny and interesting and cool and like meaty and like cool to think about but also if you are the nurses and you're just there to kind of like laugh and see some pretty dresses it wasn't preachy about what it was doing and so I'm genuinely impressed that it was able to be a cloud pleaser for like the [SPEAKER_03]: the dorks, the like the dorks you want to like oh I really want to move you to make me think about stuff and the people who are like I am here to have a nice time rarely we we like the same movies me and those people but this worked yeah and that's why it's gonna make a billion dollars which I think I think I wanted to [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, like I feel like well, okay, one they are so lucky.

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I guess they wouldn't have made it if this weren't the case, but like that all of their main people 20 years later are one alive to still [SPEAKER_02]: working both at the at the level of starting they were at and in some cases they weren't just are and now they are a star like I'm a little like they are great they're all great actors they're so lucky that that was like their main cast yeah and then like [SPEAKER_02]: At first, when I got out of it, I was like, okay, that movie was really fun, but it's like, it was interesting how sort of like toothless it was or whatever.

[SPEAKER_02]: It was like a declawed version of the vibe of the original. [SPEAKER_02]: But then I was thinking about it, and it's like, it's not really because like, it does address something very real, which is like, [SPEAKER_02]: the world that the first one was made it and the world this this one was made in magazines are a completely fucking different thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Vogue is a completely different thing and like so for for this one to be about yeah the danger of tech in creative spaces tech guys and creative spaces yeah is [SPEAKER_02]: extremely relevant.

[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, they were just like, this is like, without question bad, AI is bad. [SPEAKER_02]: And then I was like, okay, maybe it's not the movie was so too useless, but like Miranda feels very declawed. [SPEAKER_02]: But then it's like that actually does make a lot of [SPEAKER_02]: top of the mountain and now she's nobody in any sort of position with any sort of creative endeavor is the powerful one. [SPEAKER_02]: The powerful ones are the tech billionaires. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah and that and that you know the Miranda character now [SPEAKER_03]: would have to, she was still like a little rude, she was still a little whatever she was.

[SPEAKER_03]: But it felt very true to life that she would be, not necessarily trying to be better, but like trying, leaning on assistance and stuff to help her catch herself, if she's gonna say something wrong or like any of that stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, because she would have to, right now it's the thing where it's like, [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and that she would be in a position, and you know, I don't know anything about Anna Winter's situation, but, you know, that she would have to be in a position where she is, yeah, trying to play nice with these Spindless stupid tech people.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and it's like so [SPEAKER_03]: It's like not toothless, but it's really, it's like wrapping the medicine in candy the way it's like, you know, she is talking about how like she's asking for a pledge to commit to like human artistry and skill in the magazine and like, and you know, the Jeff Bezos characters name, I don't even bend G something. [SPEAKER_00]: I did think that character was pretty. [SPEAKER_02]: I thought he was quite funny. [SPEAKER_03]: It was very funny. [SPEAKER_03]: I also didn't, I did not know it was just in the row until like 90 minutes into the movie and I was like, wait.

[SPEAKER_03]: He looked bad. [SPEAKER_03]: Wait. [SPEAKER_03]: Not my crush from when I was 20. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's happen to him. [SPEAKER_03]: And you know what is another thing that I actually thought was kind of interesting about this movie. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not, I'm not personally a fashion girl. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, I like style and I like getting dressed and like expressing myself with clothes. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't follow Vogue. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't really follow any of that stuff at that level.

[SPEAKER_03]: So like, I don't consider myself someone who would like, anytime I have been presented with Anna Winter, my feeling, my gut feeling is always like, Yucky, don't like the wrong game, but not interested. [SPEAKER_03]: And somehow this movie managed to really genuinely make a more compelling case than anything else ever has for why she matters in the world. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's an interesting thing I was like in the first one the big the big issue is sort of like Boss who is evil to employees, but employees who desperately want to be there, you know, right, and then this is much it's a much bigger, more existential issue, and but that's [SPEAKER_02]: That's, like, how could you possibly do a movie about a magazine without addressing that, like, even the biggest magazine in the world is like, holding on by a fucking thread?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and that, you know, there's just, like, yeah, the media consolidation everywhere. [SPEAKER_03]: And so all this was really a missing was like a sub-stack plot, somewhere. [SPEAKER_03]: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, everyone's very focused on clicks, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it reminded me of when we all met Chris O'Dowd and Brian. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: It was like the same thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Poor and God. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I loved that they didn't cast like a big stunty name. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I think I'm like so sick of British guys being cast as the love interest and that accent is supposed to be like short hand for like we're supposed to find them hot. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't fuck them.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't find them hot. [SPEAKER_02]: Get out of here. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, so for the British, right? [SPEAKER_03]: I was. [SPEAKER_02]: They're actually a guy that I hooked up with for a few months in 2019 accidentally texted me today. [SPEAKER_03]: Was he British? [SPEAKER_02]: Is that why that was British? [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_02]: He was British. [SPEAKER_02]: He had like just moves here and he was like, so everyone here is, it's circumcised.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they are. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not weird. [SPEAKER_03]: How is this already come up for you? [SPEAKER_02]: Anyways, I like that he was all straight. [SPEAKER_03]: I did like that he was all straight on. [SPEAKER_02]: But no, I really like because that was such a subplot. [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, in the little screen time at God, it uh,

[SPEAKER_03]: I was rooting for it. [SPEAKER_03]: Me too, and in fact, I only found Andy kind of rude in it. [SPEAKER_02]: Like when they heard their moments when she was kind of rude, when they had their little fight, I was like, Andy, what are you talking to this nice man like this? [SPEAKER_02]: She was being very rude, but she was like being rude in a way where I was like, in this situation I would probably also be being rude in that same way.

[SPEAKER_02]: I just, you know, it was a real late of a way of being rude when you're like, world is falling apart. [SPEAKER_02]: Because men are always doing that. [SPEAKER_02]: They're always trying to like solve things that they can't solve. [SPEAKER_03]: And I can't remember what he said. [SPEAKER_03]: He like tried to give her advice. [SPEAKER_02]: Is that what it was? [SPEAKER_02]: He was like comparing it to like doing the apartments or something and then he was kind of like,

[SPEAKER_03]: No, I get that. [SPEAKER_03]: I get that. [SPEAKER_03]: I get that. [SPEAKER_03]: No, you put it that way. [SPEAKER_03]: Man. [SPEAKER_03]: I did. [SPEAKER_02]: I liked that she was single and childless. [SPEAKER_03]: Me too. [SPEAKER_03]: And also I love that lady who plays her best friend from Rhett. [SPEAKER_03]: Um, I love her. [SPEAKER_03]: I just find her so comforting every time she's on. [SPEAKER_03]: She's like really funny and like she says such a warm presence. [SPEAKER_03]: I wish I saw her in more things, but maybe I'm just not seeing what she's in.

[SPEAKER_02]: I like that she got a purse again. [SPEAKER_02]: She got a purse again. [SPEAKER_03]: It was so funny and that was like a great call of act of the first one and that and how the way had this like sweet relationship with her kid. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, which is just it just was so cute. [SPEAKER_03]: I just loved it. [SPEAKER_03]: I loved it so much. [SPEAKER_02]: It feels very real too where it's not like she's like, man, I'm like, you know, it's not like, you know, a 90s childless single woman who is like, she's like, no, no, my friend who also has like, [SPEAKER_02]: a cool demanding career as like a gallerist.

[SPEAKER_02]: She is a kid and I love her kid and I come out with them. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and she's like sitting, she liked her editing, editing pieces. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, she's sitting with like a princess add-on.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I really enjoyed all of that. [SPEAKER_03]: The whole, so just in the row is supposed to be Jeff Bezos, right? [SPEAKER_03]: Which would make Emily Lauren Sanchez? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: That's really funny. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's I mean, it's really funny to make one of one of the legacy characters Lawrence and yeah, and then yeah Lucy Lou is a [SPEAKER_02]: Mackenzie Bezos. [SPEAKER_03]: I love it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I did love that. [SPEAKER_03]: Alex wasn't tracking the Lucy Loosey Loose stuff, but really the second it was getting discussed that it was the company was going to be sold.

[SPEAKER_03]: I was like yeah, Lucy Loosey Loose is going to save the day. [SPEAKER_03]: She was obviously connecting with Miranda. [SPEAKER_03]: We see. [SPEAKER_02]: I actually didn't put that together, um, I guess like I wasn't thinking too hard. [SPEAKER_02]: I kind of turned my brain off a bit. [SPEAKER_02]: I was just like, do, do, do, do, do enjoy enjoying the ride. [SPEAKER_03]: You were kind of, you were, uh, going nurse mode. [SPEAKER_03]: I was going nurse mode. [SPEAKER_03]: Again, I don't dislike nurses and I support you guys.

[SPEAKER_03]: I think your job actually is incredibly hard and tough, but you know, you as tend to want to turn out, you're brain-off at a movie because your brain has to be on in a different way anyway. [SPEAKER_03]: I, I really, yeah, I was tracking the Lucy Lou thing for some reason immediately, but I also just like, it's so funny that this movie dealt with media consolidation and also the Bezos Sanchez family trying to buy their way into fashion. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, totally. [SPEAKER_03]: Which is like a big thing that gets talked about a lot.

[SPEAKER_02]: I found it very funny, and so true, I mean the fact that Lauren Sanchez did get him to vote. [SPEAKER_03]: Right, so I like something this one, she didn't. [SPEAKER_03]: In that way, this is sort of like a fashion version of one of those like Tarantino revisionist history. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, it's very much. [SPEAKER_03]: at the end of once upon a time and all of you were that was the Hitler-Win and Glorious Mass. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: We're rewriting history. [SPEAKER_03]: Lauren Sanchez doesn't have anything to do with it.

[SPEAKER_03]: She was outsmarted. [SPEAKER_03]: I love it. [SPEAKER_03]: I think it's good. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like also

[SPEAKER_02]: I liked the scene in the board room where Miranda was saying things and the assistant was like, um, because it, at least like, showed that it's like, she didn't randomly have a lobotomy and become a different character.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: This has been 20 years of like being forced to change. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And like that was funny, that was a funny scene. [SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was funny that Timothy Shalame's sister was in half a frame. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I saw her name on the credits and I was like, when? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was like, she was sitting at that table and like the second time they made in that room, but I don't even know if she had a line. [SPEAKER_02]: Certainly she had lines and they got cut.

[SPEAKER_03]: Because yeah, otherwise, since a sweetening got cut, did you know that? [SPEAKER_02]: I did. [SPEAKER_02]: And I think they got good. [SPEAKER_02]: Good. [SPEAKER_03]: Like I was, when it was made sense. [SPEAKER_03]: What seemed to you think she was in? [SPEAKER_03]: Um, I don't know because I feel like if she was at the Hampton's party, they would have just left her in because it's not like, yeah, because it was just like one of, of many, yeah, so maybe. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, maybe it was like a photo shoot thing.

[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe she was like, at one of the photo shoots, or maybe she comes into the office. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_02]: Very, very smart of them to do that. [SPEAKER_02]: Cut her. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I did like that like the main villain. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I guess, [SPEAKER_02]: Not the main. [SPEAKER_02]: A, yeah, kind of the main like villain in the villain's sense where there's like a turn or reveal. [SPEAKER_02]: I like that it was like not just some new rando.

[SPEAKER_02]: I liked that it was like an old- It was a nightmare. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I thought that was really cool and interesting. [SPEAKER_03]: And honestly, I really liked that line that of course, I can't quite remember specifically, but it was like something about how [SPEAKER_03]: you she doesn't she didn't have like she was a consumer and not a taste maker. [SPEAKER_03]: I think that's interesting. [SPEAKER_03]: It's an interesting concept. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah because you're kind of a brutal.

[SPEAKER_02]: That is a lot of people. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think she said like she wasn't a visionary or something. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and she definitely called her a consumer, which I was like, oh, yeah, very relevant because there's there's a lot of girls these days who have made their entire brand consumption, yeah, but I then I also liked that in the end, I thought her little lunch with Andy was very cute, I did too and, um, oh, you know what I really loved.

[SPEAKER_03]: I loved the conversation in the car with Andy on the way home from Lucy Lou's house. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: When Lucy Lou buys the company. [SPEAKER_03]: And it is so like not to be like girl boss about it because I, you know, there's like not go put on your slacks go get your slacks come back and be girl boss about it. [SPEAKER_03]: And she talks about how she's like, I missed a lot and there was a cost.

[SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_03]: It was so frank and so sincere. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't, I just don't feel like I've seen that before. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And then she would be with a woman CEO where it's not her being. [SPEAKER_03]: some evil shrew. [SPEAKER_03]: It's heard just like honestly being like, yeah, there was a cost. [SPEAKER_03]: I missed stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, I missed everything, but I love it. [SPEAKER_02]: I love it. [SPEAKER_03]: I love working is what she said, which I was like, you know, if three things went wrong, this could have felt like [SPEAKER_03]: It just felt sincere and like there are people who feel like that.

[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, I don't know, I just, I thought it was very prefer- that part genuinely kind of made me tear up a little like I felt a little emotional at that scene because it just felt so honest. [SPEAKER_03]: and the nurses said, girl, what the hell? [UNKNOWN]: What are you doing? [SPEAKER_03]: They've bunked me over there, but they're standing like that. [SPEAKER_03]: The snacks from the little tray, on top, explode, everywhere. [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like they got a lot of good like a...

[SPEAKER_02]: one-on-one character scenes that like, yeah, everyone wanted with like, yeah, Andy. [SPEAKER_02]: Emily, Emily Miranda, Stanley Tucci, like, getting and half of we closed again. [SPEAKER_02]: It was, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: But it didn't feel too, I don't know. [SPEAKER_02]: It somehow didn't, it felt referential to the first one in a, [SPEAKER_02]: In sort of a fan service way, but not in a way that felt cheap or bad, I thought it was done very well. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it felt like a mature way.

[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of. [SPEAKER_02]: And like all the characters did mature 20 years, or maybe not in like Emily's case like maybe not even mature, but she's been kind of stewing this whole time, so it's like But that also that feels honest too, right? [SPEAKER_03]: Totally not like so many people who are like that. [SPEAKER_02]: It feels like for all of them 20 years have passed for the characters. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Guys, go see this movie if you haven't already. [SPEAKER_02]: You probably have, I think everyone, somebody who like, you know, I see a lot of movies with who's one of my entourage members.

[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, gonna go see double-sees, gonna go see double-ores product if you want to come on Thursday night. [SPEAKER_02]: And he was like, oh, I don't think I'm gonna see that. [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, what? [SPEAKER_02]: He's me. [SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like I kind of assumed everyone was going to see it. [SPEAKER_02]: Do you hate women? [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: The second, the lights go down, that's the no talking zone. [SPEAKER_03]: So the lights go down for the trailers, so that's the no talking zone. [SPEAKER_03]: To me, the trailers are just as important as the movie. [SPEAKER_03]: I like get there early so that I can see them all because I like to know what's coming and I'd like to see the trailers and like even if it's a trailer I've seen several times. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not like I have the right to talk through it because someone else might want to be paying attention.

[SPEAKER_03]: So that is my staunchly held opinion, no talking during the trailers. [SPEAKER_03]: It's extremely fucking rude. [SPEAKER_03]: You shouldn't control the whole space for other people.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think I'm a little less hard line on it. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not full volume, certainly. [SPEAKER_02]: I am, I am okay with whispering and muttering. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm okay with a, like, you know, between the trailers, it goes down, the like sound goes down and the the rating screen is on and you're like, Alex good or whatever. [SPEAKER_02]: We should see that. [SPEAKER_02]: Where are you on phones during trailers? [SPEAKER_02]: Um, I don't care. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I'm okay with phones during trailers.

[SPEAKER_02]: But it obviously has to stop when the movie starts. [SPEAKER_02]: Like the second, I would say once Nicole Kidman is, once the Coke couple is up, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: shut, you gotta be quiet. [SPEAKER_03]: We're getting into the quiet zone. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and we don't speak during the National Anthem, which is the Nicole Kidman ad. [SPEAKER_02]: Isn't it so funny when people are you ever near people who like still do with like either like clap or whatever and you're like damn you have been to the movies five times in the past.

[UNKNOWN]: Like [SPEAKER_00]: four years. [SPEAKER_03]: I bet I don't ever see I don't think I have ever really seen that. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, okay. [SPEAKER_03]: So I don't think it's been popular to do that anywhere I've lived since that ad started coming out. [SPEAKER_03]: I will if I'm we at the movies with someone who doesn't I know doesn't go to the movies that much and they're just like making an exception. [SPEAKER_02]: And I have not looked at the answers. [SPEAKER_02]: And here are some of the questions. [SPEAKER_02]: OK, a lot of them. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to condense a lot of them. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Into just generally, like, outside food, like, full meals, like in the theater. [SPEAKER_03]: OK. Full meal, does it require a fork?

[SPEAKER_02]: I think I know. [SPEAKER_02]: I think that would also be like a burrito, [SPEAKER_03]: eating road to three chicken out of the bag.

[SPEAKER_03]: I don't, I don't love it, but I am, I accept it as a part of what can happen. [SPEAKER_03]: I think my strongest opinions are almost always going to be like sound or visual related. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't love smelling someone's like burrito or whatever. [SPEAKER_03]: And I think the strongest opinion I've had is with someone eats like a hummus or a Caesar salad next to me. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, some words are salad is rough, smells crazy. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to be smelling like creamy dressing.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, hummus bugs me because that like packaged like snack pack type of hummus is so stinky. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, sure. [SPEAKER_03]: It like has a really strong sort of like shelf-stable garlic smell to it. [SPEAKER_03]: Where it's like a little bit of like citric acid and garlic or something. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: It's rough to me. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I kind of think that like the the line to me is like [SPEAKER_02]: If you're bringing something in, and it has a smell, it needs to smell like a food that would already be in the theater.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So like gender. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So like any sort of general fried smell or buttery smell is okay. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want any smells in there. [SPEAKER_03]: We've, we've landed on the smells that are gonna be in there. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want somebody sitting next to me or even across the theater. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want someone with a fucking bowl of, of, of ballin' aes. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to know to smell that. [SPEAKER_03]: Now have you seen the joke trend going around?

[SPEAKER_03]: That's like the movie theater employee walks by me during, well, I'm like, knee deep in a crab boil. [SPEAKER_03]: And it's like, are you eating a big? [SPEAKER_03]: Like, and then putting it down. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't support that eating that in the movies, but those videos make always make you. [SPEAKER_02]: It's funny, and I find it disgusting. [SPEAKER_02]: I find it disgusting. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, that's rapidly viral, but it also. [SPEAKER_02]: I sometimes like, I think you set me one where it was like, these two girls that had this crazy fucking spread, and I'm like, okay, I'm not judging anyone, but I'm also kind of like, how much food do you need for, for a hundred minutes?

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, whatever happened to getting lunch before or after, you know? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I definitely can see that. [SPEAKER_03]: a beautiful year in all of our lives. [SPEAKER_03]: I was living, when I was living in Nashville, I would go to the movies at the first showing. [SPEAKER_03]: And I have a very vivid memory of specifically doing this for the movie first reformed. [UNKNOWN]: Ha ha ha ha. [SPEAKER_03]: A barrel of laughs we can write to a 10 30 AM showing of first reformed.

[SPEAKER_03]: And there was a Whole Foods next door. [SPEAKER_03]: And so I looked on the app for movie paths to see if any other seats had been purchased and there hadn't been and it was like I better be alone so I think I went to the whole food shop bar and got like breakfast foods like bacon and like [SPEAKER_03]: and then like a bunch of vegetables that I just enjoy snacking on from the salad bar. [SPEAKER_03]: That I know what's just like watching first reform eating like eating bacon and eating peas as if they're popcorn because I like doing that.

[SPEAKER_03]: Like a duck? [SPEAKER_00]: Like a little duck in a pond.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I just I like peas. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: I sometimes eat peas like their popcorn, wow. [SPEAKER_03]: This has been a really vulnerable ever since. [SPEAKER_02]: Right? [SPEAKER_02]: You've, this is gonna be our entry episode into the Golden Globes for the vodka's category because it was so raw and vulnerable. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: It was a magical thing. [SPEAKER_00]: It was bad. [SPEAKER_03]: Isn't that bad? [SPEAKER_03]: Is he, you know, it's no worse than bacon and peas. [SPEAKER_03]: No, but there were other people in my other, I do think maybe somebody came in at some point, and then they saw you eating breakfast in your favorite, this was before the break.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, okay, I like this one. [SPEAKER_02]: Biggest pet peeve, and then what's your preferred seat?

[SPEAKER_03]: My biggest pet peeve in theater etiquette simply has to be talking. [SPEAKER_03]: There's no other thing. [SPEAKER_03]: Like even phones, in the hierarchy of pet peeves, phones are not great, but talking really boils my blood because it just feels so rude. [SPEAKER_03]: Unless it's a screening where it's specifically, like a rocky horror or something where you're supposed to be like hooting and hollering and running around. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't think there's any movie where you're supposed to be talking.

[SPEAKER_03]: I've had friends who will be like, oh, this is the kind of movie you talk through. [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm like, there is no movie right? [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: It was your later. [SPEAKER_03]: It was your later. [SPEAKER_02]: It was everyone in this theater in agreement. [SPEAKER_02]: Like did we all have a little discussion before him? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we could do that at home, but at the movie theater, talking is just like, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, what was the other question?

[SPEAKER_03]: Seet? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, where do you like to sit? [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a big issue in our marriage. [SPEAKER_03]: I just prefer Alex's sound, you know, he loves sound and like, where to experience the best sound and there are like four seats in every theater where you can experience the best sound because the speakers are pointed directly at you. [SPEAKER_03]: are they always built the same so it's essentially like the exact middle of the room is always the best sound experience okay i don't give i don't give a shit about that and i can't tell the difference ever i like to sit in the back corner [SPEAKER_00]: So you can do secret bad things? [SPEAKER_03]: No, I don't, I think I just am comforted by being in a corner. [SPEAKER_03]: I think you're being evil-backed, man. [SPEAKER_03]: I like to, and if not the corner, I like to sit on like, you know, if the aisle splits and there's like three seats and then a full aisle, I will take the one closest to the wall and the three seat area, a pie, and if, and if no one else sits over there, because listen, those are not popular seats.

[SPEAKER_03]: I just feel like every, unless I'm at an old movie theater where the seats are not like, like modern movie theaters, they've really made it so that the experience and a seat is not totally different, you know, there's no like breaking your neck to look up or whatever. [SPEAKER_03]: Um, so if I'm in a modern movie theater, I like the ones where I'm against the wall and then no one else will sit in the aisle most of the time and I'll like put all the armrests up and I just can like sit a bunch of different ways during.

[SPEAKER_03]: I like lean against the wall and put my leg up on the chin bar and I do like sitting a bunch of different ways, which is why I like recliners. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because you can't really sit crisscross applesauce in a normal seat, but you certainly can on a recliner. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, and I love seeing Chris cross out both of us. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't feel like a lot of the theaters have recliners around here. [SPEAKER_03]: It'll be like one or two of the screens at the AMCs. [SPEAKER_02]: I guess honestly, that's kind of the same here.

[SPEAKER_02]: But just with a lot of new releases, like a lot of the time they will be. [SPEAKER_02]: If it's like a three and a half hour movie, recliner is not negotiable. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sitting at two 90 degree angles for three and a half hours. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, my preferred seed is very different, okay. [SPEAKER_02]: I would say like roughly like F row and if it's a very empty theater, I'll I love to do just like center. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but if it's a full-feet or got to be on an aisle, I don't like being boxed in.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I need to be on the aisle because like there's something about having two people very close on either side of you, which then brings me to my pet peeve, which [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, talking, of course, like phones, particularly when it's like when it's people like just like playing candy crush What's it saying when I saw sinners in I'm acts, so like they paid and it wasn't a damn sees like they paid a lot of money for that You get there was one guy who was just like right in front of me who was just going between like Amazon Wikipedia and grinder and [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, what are you, what are you with the pedying right now and what are you have to like order a new toothpaste right now what are you doing that's crazy yeah and I was like driving me nuts, but like a more niche pet peeve is like sometimes and I think this has to do with my mood I am willing to admit my part in this [SPEAKER_02]: like it's just like I need you to stop moving.

[SPEAKER_02]: I need you to stop clearing your throat. [SPEAKER_02]: I just needed all the stop.

[SPEAKER_03]: Please, please, I need everything to stop. [SPEAKER_02]: You can't be a person anymore. [SPEAKER_02]: All these teenagers who are doing that, which they have a lot of energy I understand. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, their bodies are doing weird stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: Which then also, one of the big etiquette things now with a sign seeding is, like, I feel like there's a lot of etiquette around, like, when someone's in your seat.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it revelers product to there was a couple. [SPEAKER_02]: And this has been happening a lot lately. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, last week, I think there was a couple, and they were both, and I'm always alone. [SPEAKER_02]: So people immediately like think I'm like, [SPEAKER_02]: weird. [SPEAKER_02]: Also, because people are weird about people going to the movies alone or whatever. [SPEAKER_02]: Just stupid. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's like you're not talking any ways during it.

[SPEAKER_02]: But there was a couple who would like the guy was in my seat. [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, I think that's my seat. [SPEAKER_02]: And then he was like, oh, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. [SPEAKER_02]: And then the lady was like, no, blah, blah, blah. [SPEAKER_02]: And it was like, they were on the total opposite side of the aisle. [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, I don't even know how this happened. [SPEAKER_02]: And then on Thursday, devil was prodded. [SPEAKER_02]: There was a guy in my seat, part of a couple.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he was just supposed to be on the other side, but I had to be like, [SPEAKER_02]: I think you're on my seat and it's like, I hate doing that, but it's necessary because like, when I saw wicked too, I, I was with my friend Matt and we show up, it's pretty close to the end of previous full full theater because it's opening weekend fully full theater. [SPEAKER_02]: And there was a girl in my seat, like a young girl. [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, hi, I think you're in our seats. [SPEAKER_02]: And she just went, oh, someone was in our seats.

[SPEAKER_02]: and then just nothing. [SPEAKER_02]: Just absolutely nothing. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: And then just sort of turns away and it's like done with me. [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, oh, well, can you ask them to, can you ask the people in your seats to move? [SPEAKER_02]: She was like, I just feel like there's like an hot really room in this row for anyone to like scoot over. [SPEAKER_02]: And I just kind of looked around at the full theater and I was just like, [SPEAKER_02]: Well, there's no other seats.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what to tell you. [SPEAKER_02]: And then finally, after so much just awkward standing there and like, her just really wanting me to go away, she like, finally, you know, caught up the nerve to talk to the person who was in her seat, you know? [SPEAKER_02]: But it was just weird. [SPEAKER_02]: She fully expected me to just go, okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh well, so weird, but someone was in my seat, and, right, so you have to, what, what we're doing here is that's you're going to go do that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Why is that my problem now? [SPEAKER_02]: Um, and I just kind of do think that happens a lot where people just be like, not on their seat, and then you're like, that's my seat, and they're like, oh, [SPEAKER_03]: Like, oh, well, you, oh, I didn't know I have to care. [SPEAKER_03]: So that doesn't, my theaters are never fall. [SPEAKER_03]: So it hasn't been coming up. [SPEAKER_03]: But I will say the opposite of that one time, I think when we went to see the drama, Alex had bought the tickets.

[SPEAKER_03]: And we know this, but we have trouble remembering which seated is there's one seat in one of the theaters. [SPEAKER_03]: where it's broken and it's like in the ideal seat area. [SPEAKER_03]: They should fix that. [SPEAKER_03]: They should fix it, but they don't. [SPEAKER_03]: So movie theaters are struggling. [SPEAKER_03]: They won't do anything to improve it. [SPEAKER_03]: So they don't fix the seat and so we get there. [SPEAKER_03]: We realize it's broken and we're like, oh, let's just all scoot over one and we'll just figure it out.

[SPEAKER_03]: And that's fine, but my anxiety every time someone walked in the room, I was like, oh my god. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, also though, weirdly at the screening I went to of the drama, the Friday of opening weekend, we were alone in the room. [SPEAKER_03]: That's so crazy, until like five to ten minutes into the movie. [SPEAKER_03]: And I remember you saying that, which is like what the fuck like what are you guys doing and then it like filled up like a ton of people came in like in their little groups one at a time and I was just like, what so weird you guys missed some of the movie But then that made it more stressful because it was like there is less [SPEAKER_03]: opening for communication, like the communication that would happen if I was in someone's seat.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's a higher pressure. [SPEAKER_03]: No, I totally feel that way. [SPEAKER_02]: I, uh, I feel like when people now that people come in, like I come in definitely late, but like during previews. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, but still, I feel like people now come in so late. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And it makes me feel like, you know, like a dog gets on nervous when like not everyone's in the room. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like counting. [SPEAKER_00]: I need everyone to be in the room, just like I just need everyone to sit down!

[SPEAKER_00]: I just need everyone to sit down! [SPEAKER_02]: I get really like that where I just need everyone to be settled for me to focus on the movie. [SPEAKER_03]: It's so funny. [SPEAKER_00]: Like everyone just getting here and like everyone who's going to sit needs to just sit. [SPEAKER_03]: Pete, please.

[SPEAKER_03]: Um, yeah, yeah, but so the seat, the seat stuff doesn't come up a ton for me, but if it, I don't like, I just feel like when rules like that exist, I just want to live in them correctly, and it stresses me out when someone's doing them wrong. [SPEAKER_02]: It's just sort of a thing where it's like, I do kind of think it's like totally fine to like, give it a try. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Try to sit in a seat. [SPEAKER_02]: You'd rather be in. [SPEAKER_02]: But if somebody is like, oh, you're in my seat, you immediately have to be like, oh, sorry, and leave.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but then also when people do that and like you know how full the theater is when you booked that ticket So when people do that and they know it was like a full theater It's like how do you think this is gonna play out exactly? [SPEAKER_03]: I remember when I was seeing [SPEAKER_03]: The internals and I and I like book to my ticket and I saw it alone because Alex really does not like Marvel stuff and I don't love it But for some reason I would see some of them for a few years Just got to do your culture homework sometimes I guess [SPEAKER_03]: uh but I remember when I was seeing it it was like a pretty busy theater and um um I didn't like the seat I had picked and so I kept, I like moved, I moved, and I just kept checking the app to see if anyone had bought the seat I had moved.

[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that's like, and that's a nervousness that's probably incorrect in the other person. [SPEAKER_03]: That's a very considerate of you. [SPEAKER_03]: It's it's anxiety and I'm working on it and there, but it does the VISTA still not do assign seats. [SPEAKER_03]: At this film festival, I'm the reason we're recording a night is because I'm going to film festival this weekend and I have been a couple of times already. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't have a science eats and there's like no place where I have that experience anymore.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And the anxiety is crazy. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think it's like. [SPEAKER_02]: with the Vista sort of like, okay, that has to be more of like a plant. [SPEAKER_02]: You have to go kind of like, I like that with the signed seeding. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like with a list and stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: We're just going to the movies like so much that it's like, I wanted to just be like easy show up like your sense. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like as frictionless as possible.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: This is at like essentially, [SPEAKER_03]: It's at the music box theater, which is like a, it's similar to the Vista. [SPEAKER_03]: It's like an old movie house, like movie palace-type place.

[SPEAKER_03]: I think the other thing that makes me anxious while going to these like non-assigned seating movies with Alex is that Alex is very tall. [SPEAKER_03]: And so, like, he literally, we went to see in her front of the band, the show, the movie at this theater, and we got their late. [SPEAKER_03]: And he has to, like, he essentially had his whole body tense to hold his knees up, so that he could be in the space. [SPEAKER_03]: So it just makes me stressed, I'm like we have to get an Isle, he's made a way for my giant husband, everyone out of the way.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like nervous, I mean, he is not asking me to do that and again, this is something I'm addressing in therapy, but. [SPEAKER_03]: But that is like a part of the calculus is like, oh, it's going to be uncomfortable for him. [SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes I won't buy tickets this theater because I'm like, it's just not comfortable if I can see it somewhere else I will. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I have a new thing I'm springing on, you know, that I think will be a nice button. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: For any sort of movie that's big enough that it has like, it's on like AMC pop corn bucket. [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_02]: I think we should rate the popcorn bucket. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Did you see this popcorn bucket? [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: Fuck. [SPEAKER_00]: My button! [SPEAKER_03]: Wait, I can Google it right now. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna Google it. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, behind the scenes. [SPEAKER_03]: I think one to five, I don't think we need to compensate it with twice as many numbers. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, one to five, popcorn, pumpkin scale. [SPEAKER_02]: I guess kernels, I guess we're rating in kernels. [SPEAKER_02]: We know, oh, no, it's popcorn pieces. [SPEAKER_02]: And then if you want to do like half, it's like one of those like little half-poped kernels. [SPEAKER_03]: okay that's good um so let's just let's just get a sense of of scale first uh water some of the famous pop with the first popcorn bucket which was dune right i like it was the first but it was a very famous one where you stick your hand in the worm i never seen them before the dune one uh interesting um i'm gonna i'm gonna give the dune one [SPEAKER_03]: weird and also sort of, um, it's more immersive.

[SPEAKER_03]: I think then some of the other ones I've seen because you're experiencing the, you're messing to the world. [SPEAKER_03]: That's not what I'm doing. [SPEAKER_02]: I know, but that's what everyone was saying. [SPEAKER_02]: They were going to do. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what everyone was like, the red man. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: I would say the June one

[SPEAKER_02]: I liked that one, but I was confused by how it was a popcorn bucket because he's in it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that's true. [SPEAKER_03]: For that reason, I only give it a two and a half. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that one didn't really stick with me. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, we'd give that maybe like a two. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, what about the, the naked gun like that beaver? [SPEAKER_03]: I wait, I have to Google it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because this feels very like, oh, it's a movie about fashion versus yeah, yeah, and I feel like there was definitely a certain era of time where like [SPEAKER_03]: herses and shoes being represented on clothing as like a print was a big thing in the aunt community I feel like you know I'm thinking of like something that used to exist and now just doesn't but there was like [SPEAKER_02]: You know, some sort of like society of women and it was the purple and the red red hat society.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yes I think that does still exist. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it used to be more prevalent [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think that I was just hanging out at a lot more corner bakeries and it was prevalent and now I'm just not hanging out there anymore because I feel like I never encountered that in person, but there was like a lot of stuff with that on it and to me this person's very that [SPEAKER_03]: that is exactly what it is. [SPEAKER_03]: And I bet if you, I bet if we looked at the Red Hat society, like some chapters in Instagram page probably has like all of them.

[SPEAKER_03]: The website brought into the house. [SPEAKER_03]: You could get someone out of person.

[SPEAKER_03]: It was a corporate entity. [SPEAKER_03]: They said that this is the highest rated movie in Hugh Jackman's career. [SPEAKER_03]: I saw that so funny. [SPEAKER_03]: In saying, so anyway, what we're going to do is both, we're going to cover the sheep detectives. [SPEAKER_03]: And we're gonna cover Hokem. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but mostly the Sheep Detectives. [SPEAKER_03]: Mostly the Sheep Detectives. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't even, you know, I'll see Hokem because I have to support my brother I was going to remember I've tried to start online for years.

[SPEAKER_03]: I just don't stick because of my brother that's what you want him and the devil worth brought it to every thing where they're like who should have been in this and you're like I don't know my brother Adam maybe you know him so anyway go see the sheep detective so you can listen [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I, okay, so put just before we get there.
